I just picked up this sweet new hardshell case for my classical guitar at Valley Piano Co. from Brian Chenowith! I love the classical sound and I want to incorporate it into my live shows more but it's a cedar top guitar and cedar is a soft wood that needs protecting. The little gig bag was not going to work. This new case is tough. I can't wait to damage it. 😳 (but not the guitar!) 😁

If you're in the vicinity and you like crawfish and music, we began at 8:00 p.m. this is a full band show, so I do need to warn you that the closer you are to the stage, the more likely your face might get melted off. Sorry, I had to say that for insurance purposes. Joined by Jason Jones and The Ben Smith.

I found this album when I was a teenager and Chris Isaak was already in his 40s. Though he looked like he was in his twenties. The first song that really caught my attention was "Somebody's Crying" but the whole album is a keeper.

This was already his fifth studio album, but fortunately it broke through into the mainstream with Wicked Game. A great song, but most likely catapulted due to him frolicking on a beach in the video with a supermodel.

Nevertheless, his music broke through and I'm glad it did. Excellent songwriter. One of the most enigmatic live performers I've seen live. A beautiful falsetto voice and inspiring simplicity in lyrics. There was nothing else on the radio at the time that came close to his sound, a call back to Elvis and the Sun Studio groups.

Worth a listen if you're looking for new old music. Worth a re-listen if you're feeling nostalgic for some tunes from the past.

The song pretty much says it all. I know you're not supposed to have inanimate objects as best friends, but I would hardly call this beautiful creature an inanimate object. I always encouraged people who are going through hard times to pour out their confusion, anger, and frustration into the arts. You can see the scars that she holds and wears so bravely. She has taken the punishment of thousands of performances and even more practices. Songs are birthed within her. She is the womb from whence they spring.

Let your pain have poetry and find Freedom.
